Description: | Functional Remediation (FR) is for patients with bipolar disorder and is intended to teach patients skills that may help them navigate the transition between remission and recovery.1,2 The goal of FR is to help patients regain daily functioning and adjust to being a part of society. This is achieved through psychoeducation and the development of skills to help manage cognitive deficiencies such as attention, memory, and executive function.1,2 Sessions involve family members and include practicing and role-playing daily tasks, as well as giving assignments for patients to for practice at home.1 FR typically consists of 21 sessions and helps patients improve communications, relationships, and stress management.1 |
